He's an Idiot, but Not All to Blame

From 2007

Well, I feel when readers see the word idiot; a few people probably come to mind that fit in that category. Well, I am sure the number one idiot on most people’s list is none other than the president. He seems to be pretty unpopular these days and I can see the reasoning behind that. What if I told you though that it's not his fault, and you are casting stones at the wrong person? Maybe you would think that I am a republican. Maybe you would think that I do not see what has happened since he has been in power. I say though, what power? Follow me here for a minute.

The president is nobody really. He is an iconic figure. He is the one that travels around representing our country for the years he is in office. Now I have to say he is the last person I want representing us, but that’s beyond the point. He is nobody.

If you have taken any kind of government classes in school, and I am sure you have, then you know of the system of checks and balances. There is three branches of government and they have a system of checking the others decisions. So here is my point that Bush is not to blame for the happenings of this country, the congress is.

The congress is the appointed reps for each state. These are the people WE vote in to represent our interests and well being. They are the ones who are supposed to have the voice of the people. I say horse shit! These crooked bastards are the ones to blame. Come see what I mean.

The congress gets a bill, or creates a bill and there is a vote. If the bill passes through the congress, it goes to the president to be signed and declared a law or whatever. The president, if against it, can also veto this bill signing his disapproval of whatever it is. Now here’s where he is not to blame. A bill that is vetoed is then sent back to congress where they can overturn the president’s veto with a certain number of votes. Do you see where the power lies?

Basically the congress can overturn the president’s decision, and pass the bill. So why is the president there in the first place? If he can have his decisions overturned, what is his role? I will tell you like I did before.

The president is what I will call the whipping boy. He is the one that is thrust into the limelight for us to toss stones at. The one put there for us to bitch, moan, and blame all the troubles of this country on. He is the one that gets to take the beating for the real culprit which is congress. It would be like Al Capone sending out henchmen to take care of his dirty work so he does not catch the heat.

Now do not get me wrong, George Bush is an idiot. He is obviously highly unintelligent, and if it was not for the white house speech writers, he would never even have an intelligent word to say. He is the perfect president in my eyes for the congress to have. The reason being, he is so idiotic, he will take ALL the heat instead of just some of it. He is the perfect cover boy for the congress. He covers up the bad decisions and wrong doings of the congress.

The congress voted for this war! The congress voted against this, and voted for that, and whatever else is sending this country spiraling downhill. Now the country spoke out in the last election, and ousted the republicans because that is who Bush represents. I guess we will see if the democrats can turn this around and fix the wrong doings of the last congress. My guess though is they will not, because when it comes down to it, most all of them are crooks looking to line their own pockets. Which brings me to the worst culprit of all of this, and that is the lobbyists.

Lobbyists pay off (sorry, give contributions lol) to these officials to swing votes their way. If the bill or whatever is going to make their industry money, they are contributing tons of money to sway the vote in favor of making even more money when the certain bill passes. You might have a congressman who is against a certain bill, but what if the lobbyist comes along and offers them a million dollars to vote the other way? Are you telling me you wouldn't take a million dollars to vote one way or another? We all would! Well most of us, because most of us will adjust our morals if it benefits our pockets. It’s kind of sad really, but that is how the world revolves.

This is your country, the one that is supposed to be so great and moral filled. It's a crock of shit and a country ran by crooks and money hungry heathens. Now do not get me wrong, I am not trying to live somewhere else where there is a shortage of food and water, diseases and other things of that nature, but we do need to fix our shit. We act like our shit does not stink when these other countries hate us, but our shit does stink.

My whole point is Bush is nobody. All this anti-Bush talk is a waste of time. He has no control; he is a poster boy for America and nothing else. The ones to blame are the ones in congress and the crooked industry lobbyists that truly run the country by buying off these other crooks. They are crooks paying off crooks, while they toss Bush out in front to cover it all up and take the heat off of them. Bush is a putz, but he is not the real culprit in all of this.

If you are going to be anti-Bush, then be anti-congress and anti-lobbyist. It sounds like I am being anti-government, but I am really not. I am anti-crooked government. If this is the government for the people and by the people, then us people suck. Can we not do better than this? Can we not find decent people in any of these states to represent us and will not fold under pressure, or change their views for the mighty dollar? I have faith yes, but the history of this country and government shows little faith that it will ever change. That’s a sad case for the strongest country in the World. It’s also sad for us citizens who have to sit back and watch this country go to hell.

Where is the savior in all of this? Probably somewhere sitting in the homeless shelter ranting about the same things I am. The top 1%, or the rich of our society who run for these offices do not care about us, only lining their pockets some more and having power. It’s sad, but that’s the reality. So Bush, I do not blame you for our woes, but you are still one of them so I still detest you. You are the poster boy for our country, and if I wanted a drunk, C student to represent me, I could have found some of those from my old high school. Is this really the best we can do? I sure hope not, but it does look like it. What a shame!
