Only Respect when Respect is Given

This post kind of ties into the one about some people suck and some do not. All my life, and probably yours as well, you have heard the phrase, "Respect your Elders."  I say its horseshit. I only give respect when it is given back.

You have seen a lot of these elders. A lot are racist pricks first off. Now do not give me that excuse that they grew up in a different era. They have their own minds correct? Can they think and make decisions for themselves? Then they have the choice not to be that way.

Also, you got the old grumpy ones. You saw them. The ones that bitch and gripe about everything under the sun, and do not have a nice word to say about anyone or anything. They are total pricks. I might end up like one of them, but I am not there yet so leave me alone. haha

So why do I have to respect my elders? Why is this like a golden rule? Actually the golden rule states, "Do unto others as you would have done to you." That tells me that if they are assholes and treat me like shit, then I should treat them the same right back. Why wouldn’t I? Do they receive some pass because they are older? I got to be nice to them just because they shit on themselves and are going senile? Bullshit!

I give respect when I get respect and vice versa. Some people suck, some people don’t, just like a couple posts ago. I do not even care if you are a 5 year old child. If you are an asshole, fuck you. Same goes for the 92 year old on dialysis. If you do not treat people right and you are a prick, fuck you!

So save me with this respect your elders shit. You think an 87 year old prick respects the guy in the nursing home with him who is 98, which is his elder, and treats him good? Hell no! If he is a prick, then he is to most everyone. So treat me like you want to be treated no matter how old, or who you are, or go fuck yourself old man. That’s how I feel.
